“The year 2018 was filled with successes: the coverage of company’s IoT network enhanced and the further development of smart building solutions proceeded – just to mention a few of those” said Markku Patronen, CEO of Connected Finland. What else did the past year offer to Connected Finland and what is planned for the next one?
2018 was year of growth for Connected Finland. Our employees, scales of our projects and also our revenue grew, and we reached our annual targets. Pilot projects turned in to business and we were able to launch our products to the market right on time. Now we have a sensor portfolio that includes seven off-the-shelve products and FoxerIoT, a software platform for Sigfox powered IoT devices data management.
Past year Connected Finland became a remarkable player in the field of smart building, both in enabling and applying different kind of solutions. Regarding the field of smart building our core competence lies in monitoring air quality and managing different kind of working environments, whether it is about utilization monitoring, indoor air quality or energy optimization. For example, with our solutions housing cooperatives can reduce their energy consumption, and thus reduce their environmental load. A small sensor can make a big difference for our planet.
Without our amazing team we would not have been able to reach our goals. During 2018, Connected Finland and our daughter company Connected Baltics, recruited 6 new talented and enthustiastic doers. Every one of them has brought added value to us with a great portion of enthusiasm. . With the power of this lot we multiplied our revenue and scaled our processes upwards.
During the year 2018 we made IoT easier – easier to use and access. We manufacture easy on the pocket IoT solutions, accessible to all companies despite their size. We are now a full stack IoT company, providing everything from single devices to custom solutions for the world’s largest IoT network. The coverage of our network grows constantly – both in Finland and globally.
Today the Sigfox network covers more than a billion people in 60 different countries. Here in Finland our network covers over 85 % of the population and in Estonia 69 % of the populations. The constant improvement of coverage is ever more important, as needs for IoT connectivity expands across the industries. We put our efforts to continue producing and developing new sensors and software in order to help companies take the IoT leap. So, in 2019, we are going to continue this dynamic growth that we started last year.
Lastly, we would like to thank all of our partners and clients, without you this would not have been possible. Happy new year all!
Markku Patronen,
CEO
