Sigfox network expanded widely during the 2019. Now there is a total of 70 countries where the wireless LPWAN connection is making things alive. The latest additions to the Sigfox network were made during Q4 2019 and they are Greece, Russia, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Papua New Guinea.
Now present in more than 70 countries, Sigfox is the first player to build the largest IoT ecosystem in the world, from big manufacturers to hundreds of startups and device-makers on four continents. The aim of Sigfox network is to create a global 0G telecommunication standard dedicated to the transfer of small messages – to give us all access to a minimum communication service.
Sigfox was founded in 2010 and by the end of 2019 the network is present in 70 countries and covers over 1,1 billion people worldwide. There are 15,4 million devices connected to the network and the number is growing with increasing pace.

Connected Finland utilizes the 0G connection in over 30 countries
In addition to operating a nationwide network in Finland, Connected Inventios (the daughter company of Connected Finland) designs and manufactures devices and provides a service platform for utilizing the data. Majority of the company’s business has generated from indoor air quality measuring; with the company’s devices it is possible to achieve a more comfortable and healthier indoor air and/or reduce the energy consumption of a property.
In addition, measuring office utilization rates and asset tracking are increasingly popular. With universal customer needs, Connected Finland has sold solutions in cooperation with its partners in 34 countries within the Sigfox network.
Furthermore, the company implements development projects for its customers. The largest and most visible example of company’s custom projects are IoT locks for Finnish postal service Posti. The locks are part of Posti’s SmartPost parcel locker network where tens of thousands of locks are already in use by Finnish consumers.
